Oh the horror

Last night re-read some of my latest scribblings and oh they were dire. I seem to be developing less skill instead of more (possibly the opinion of anyone reading this blog also:-)

The Rule of Law

No, I haven't actually had my head stuck in the sand or anywhere else.
I did notice the war in Georgia, I just don't have a definite opinion about it apart from the fact that on principle I don't like wars so its just another war for me to dislike, and its far away and lacking in sympathetic participants. But presumably there is a due process in there somewhere trying to get out.
I mention it by way of illustration as I never did my follow-up on the Lisbon Treaty referendum. I voted No, so had the unusual experience of being on the winning side. This however was not as much fun as I hoped, as the political beliefs of some of my fellow winners are repugnant to me.
The nonsense spoken about what the result means for the European Union was also a little distressing -- surely the acceptance of the result of a national vote is part of the Rule of Law which the European Union is allegedly about?
